The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Mongolia, Tsakhim Urtuu NGO, Mongolian Association in the UK, Council of Mongolians Abroad, and the Mongolian Embassy in France jointly organized the 12th Mongolia Development Forum on April 30, in Paris, France. Foreign Affairs Minister L.Purevsuren offered greetings to Mongolians working and residing abroad and delivered detailed information about the Mongolian government’s policies concerning Mongolian citizens residing abroad, the World Mongolians Program, and the Program to Promote Mongolia Abroad. During the forum, 12 panelists from France, England, Italy, Germany, and Mongolia gave presentations and suggestions for developments in tourism, arts and culture, architecture, information technology, and intellectual property protection that could be introduced to Mongolia. The number of forum attendees has been increasing year by year. Nearly 140 representatives from Mongolia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden, the United States, Ireland, Hungary, the Russian Federation, Japan, and Switzerland attended this year's forum. As a part of the forum, Mongolian associations with operations in Europe and the heads of the Mongolia-focused initiatives gathered at the Mongolian Embassy's office to exchange information on April 29. They introduced their operations and shared solutions for the issues they face, as well as put forward requests for state assistance. During his visit to France, Foreign Minister L.Purevsuren met Jean-Marc Ayrault, French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, to discuss the development of French-Mongolian bilateral relations since President Ts.Elbegdorj’s official visit to France in November 2015. Initiated by Mongolians residing in Britain in 2005, the Mongolia Development Forum is an annual forum to shape and strengthen the system to proactively introduce the intellectual contributions of Mongolians studying and working in foreign countries to Mongolia’s development.
