Prime Minister seeks to boost meat exports 7-folds

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh visited some meat exporting companies on November 28 to become acquainted with their operations. During his tour, the Prime Ministernoted that Mongolia had exported 21,500 tons of meat worth 108 billion MNT to China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Iran, Vietnam and Qatar as of November, which indicates that exports increased five folds since 2013. The Premier pointed out that Mongolia has the opportunity to increase the capacity of its currentmeat exports by seven folds. He added that several countries are interested in buying Mongolian horse meat, and the government will collaborate with the National Security Council and other state authorities to increase horse meat exports. Makh Market LLC and Makh Impex LLC introduced the Prime Minister to their business plans as well as technological and technical updates to improve their capacities, which are expected to create more jobs. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh instructed Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig to facilitate investment and manufacturing promotion loans to the meat exporting companies.
