Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital opens

The opening ceremony of the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital under the Mongolian University of Medical Science was held on October 1.

The ceremony for commissioning the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital was held on June 17, which was built in 12th khoroo of Bayanzurkh District, covering 16,000 square meters of area.

The hospital was built with support of the government of Japan and JICA, and will be used to train lectors and students of the Mongolian University of Medical Science. The hospital has 104 beds, and will offer ambulatory and in-patient treatment.        In his opening speech, Ambassador of Japan in Mongolia Masato Takaoka said, “We held the official ceremony on June, but it takes a long time to start services for the public. I am very grateful that it is now able receive patients. The plans for this teaching hospital started 10 years ago with the hard work of a lot of people. This hospital is equipped with modern technology, and will work in accordance with Japan management standards. We are keen to work with doctors and specialists at Mongolia's first teaching hospital.”

The management team was established in 2017, and a number of trainers were trained in Japan to prepare future physicians and specialists.
