Domestic fire cases drop 35.7%




According to the National Emergency Management Agency, in the first three months of this year, 772 domestic fires occurred, causing 4.2 billion MNT in damages, killing 33 people and 372 livestock, and burning 456 homes. Emergency workers rescued 395 people and saved 14.6 billion MNT worth of property from house fires.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of fire incidences decreased by 35.7 percent and the amount of damage increased by 27.3 percent. In eight soums of Arkhangai, Bulgan, Dornod and Selenge provinces, eight forest fires occurred, affecting 22 hectares of forests and 14,810 hectares of steppes, a total of 14,832 hectares of area.

Fire prevention and inspection was provided to 4,641 organizations and 50,349 households. Some 33,617 violations that could lead to fire hazards were detected, 15,176 violations were eliminated during inspection, and relevant officials, organizations, business entities and citizens who violated fire safety regulation were fined 98.9 million MNT in total, in accordance with the Law on Infringements.
