Head of the Standing Committee on State Structure S.Byambatsogt received UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra on April 10.

The sides expressed their views on sustainable development policies and documents, as well as on the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

S.Byambatsogt said, “Parliament approved a constitutional amendment stipulating that ‘Mongolia’s development policy and document will be sustainable’ on January 14, 2019. In this regard, a bill on development policy will be discussed next week. Parliament supported to discuss the ‘Vision-2050’ policy document at the main session.”

Expressing gratitude to him on proposals from UN organizations submitted to the Standing Committee on State Structure, he said, “We are carefully considering the proposals.”

UN Resident Coordinator Mishra highlighted that it is necessary to approve the ‘Vision-2050’ policy document. Especially, it is important to clarify whether it is positively affecting vulnerable groups who may be stunted.
