During its regular meeting on April 22, Cabinet discussed and agreed to submit a draft resolution on Main Directions for Economic and Social Development of Mongolia in 2021 to Parliament.  

A total of 103 actions are included in the draft resolution within 18 objectives of five main policies. The criteria for each objective, financial sources, correlation of its purposes and measures with long and medium term programs, policy documents and the responsible organizations are clearly stated in the draft.

The document outlines to improve legal environment of food, agriculture and light industries to provide the population with healthy and safe food products and to support small and medium enterprises. Moreover, expansion and renovation of power stations are projected while ensuring continued, reliable operation of the energy sector. 

It also contains goals to create a safe and healthy environment for citizens as well as support the development of education, art, culture and sports, enable large-scale development works and increase investment.

According to the estimation, total investment of 10.3 trillion MNT will be required to finance the 103 actions reflected in the resolution.
On the same day, Cabinet discussed and backed the 2021 fiscal framework statement of the general budget of Mongolia and a bill on budget projections for 2022-2023 and agreed to submit them to Parliament. 

Police Development Program for 2020-2024 was approved

In connection with the completion of the Police Development Program for 2014-2019, in accordance with the objectives of the action plan of the government of Mongolia for 2016-2020, the Police Development Program for 2020-2024 was approved and added to the list of National Programs by Cabinet.

The police are responsible for enforcing about 90 laws and 180 regulations. Furthermore, they will not be able to fulfill their legal obligations due to outdated technology, imperfect operational methods, high workload of employees, and lack of funding. Cabinet supported the program to address the problems the police face in carrying out their duty.

During the program, 118.2 billion MNT will be spent to implement five main undertakings.
