Mongolian judoka team removed, due to COVID-19

The Asia-Pacific Judo Championship started on April 6 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. About 215 athletes from 30 countries have applied to compete in this competition.

A total of 16 athletes from Mongolia were expected to take part in the competition, but COVID-19 was detected from the five members of the team. They became infected while training in Georgia.

Saeid Mollaei will represent Mongolia at the Asia-Pacific Championships. He trained in Israel and traveled to Bishkek, did not train in Georgia with the infected Mongolian judo team.

Iranian Judoka Saeid Mollaei, who fled his country after it was alleged he refused to lose a match so he would not have to face Israeli Judoka Sagi Muki in the final. Mollaei is now competing for Mongolia.
