D.Batsuren and A.Enkhtuul become national chess champions

The 2022 Mongolian Adult Chess Championship was held in Chinggis city, Khentii Province. In the men’s category, 18-year-old D.Batsuren won and earned the Chess Champion title. D.Batsuren is an athlete from Khentii Province and he beat the Grandmaster B.Gundavaa in the last round of the competition. D.Batsuren is the youngest Mongolian Grandmaster to cross the threshold of the Grand Master title at the age of 16 years.

On the other hand, Grand Master A.Enkhtuul won the 52nd Women’s National Chess Championship. The chess player from Selenge Province qualified as the champion after winning 10 rounds.

The top five chess players will be eligible to represent their country at the 44th World Chess Olympiad this August in Chennai, India. About 76 chess players competed in the men’s category and 60 chess players competed in the women’s category. A total of 66 people, including five grandmasters, three international masters, 12 World Chess Federation masters, five World Chess Federation candidate masters, seven sports masters and 10 candidate masters participated in this championship.
