Academic conference focuses on Mongolian-Chinese cooperation

The Ministry of Foreign Relations of Mongolia, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Economic Development, Mongol Bank, Embassy of China in Mongolia and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organized an international academic conference on “Current Situation and Prospects of the Mongolian-Chinese Economic and Trade Cooperation” on June 21.

Senior Advisor to the Parliament Speaker D.Lundeejantsan opened the event with a message from G.Zandanshatar, before Minister of Foreign Relations G.Battsetseg, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Tsai Wenrui, President of Mongol Bank B.Lkhagvasuren, Deputy President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences G.Chuluunbaatar, Secretary-General of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman S.Bayasgalan gave speeches.

During the conference, more than 10 presentations and discussions were held on the trade, economic relations, cooperation, and investment between Mongolia and China, as well as their future trends. Participants stressed the need for broad discussions on a wide range of topics between policymakers and academics on the bilateral cooperation amid the growing global economic uncertainty. Trade and economic relations and cooperation between Mongolia and China are expanding. By the end of 2021, the total foreign trade turnover between the two countries reached 10.1 billion USD, with exports standing at 7.6 billion USD and imports at 2.4 billion USD.
