Mayor meets administration of General Administration of Sport of China

The “Ulaanbaatar 2023” East Asian Youth Games /EAYG/ will be held from August 16 to 23 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the EAYG and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar met with Vice Minister of Sport, Vice President of National Olympic Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhou Jinqiang, and exchanged views.

About 1,500 athletes from nine East Asian Olympic Committees will participate in 11 types of sport. Preparations for organizing the EAYG are 70 to 80 percent according to plan. The East Asian Olympic Committee includes nine National Olympic Committees from China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Macao, Taiwan, Guam, Hong Kong and Mongolia. At their first session in 1991, committees decided to organize the East Asian Games, and the first one was held in Shanghai in 1993. The Games was held every four years until 2013, when it changed its form and became the East Asian Youth Games.
