Last week, the meeting of Deputy heads of transportation and Traffic of UB Railways and Hohhot Railway was held at Zamyn-Uud station. During the meeting, the parties personally got acquainted with the problems of transport organization, train exchange and other problems at the border stations and exchanged ideas to jointly solve them.

According to the border consultation of the neighboring railways held last year, it was agreed to exchange 15 broad gauge and eight narrow gauge trains a day at Zamyn-Uud-Erenhot station. If necessary, the heads of the border stations would mutually agree and make it to 16 trains a day.

Also, Hohhot Railway expressed that it will connect with the relevant design organization for the electrification of Zamyn-Uud gauge station.

After the meeting, Deputy Head of Transport and Traffic of UB Railways, D.Amarbayasgalan familiarized himself with the operations of Erenhot Station’s Future Planning and Movement Coordination Center and the work of some loading and unloading areas. In 2022, the Chinese side said that 12 new crossings were built and put into operation on the road between Erenhot-Jining, and the carrying and passing capacity of that section reached the planned level.

In this context, Hohhot Railway has made an offer to organize the transportation of small parcels from Jining North Station to Zamyn-Uud. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a meeting between the Chief Directorss of UB Railways and Hohhot within the next month, and a specific date will be agreed upon through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
