23 died in UB due to fire

On October 26, the Songinokhairkhan District Emergency Management Department received a call about a burning house. When fire extinguishers arrived, 11 people were inside the house. In two hours and 30 minutes, 30 officers and four technicians worked to completely extinguish the fire, but unfortunately, seven people died. The Ulaanbaatar Emergency Management Agency (UEMA) informed that the case was transferred to the police of Songinokhairkhan District.

Since the beginning of this year, 1,308 emergency calls of fire have been registered in Ulaanbaatar City. As a result, 23 people died due to the fire. UEMA stated that the number of calls about the burning of gers, apartments, and garbage dumps in the ger districts has increased, and people have suffered health and lives. For example, on October 23 at 10:57 p.m., a ger and furniture completely burned down in the 37th khoroo of Bayanzurkh District, and two citizens died. In addition, fires have increased in outskirt areas. Specifically, on October 24, there were five cases of summer houses burning and three cases of residential garbage dumps burning.

Therefore, UEMA gave the following warning to ensure the safety of young children, the elderly, and people with disabilities who are at risk of losing their health and lives due to fire. In connection with the start of the autumn dry season, do not start an open fire in your home or apartment, and do not burn grass in the yard.
