Student transportation system enhanced ahead of academic year inception

In the capital city, public transportation is abundant, with 1,100 buses operating on weekdays and 887 buses on weekends. As the new academic year approaches, significant preparations are being made to accommodate the influx of students. 215 school buses are being allocated for student transport, comprising 75 buses for state-owned schools and 140 buses for private institutions. Last year, state-owned school buses alone transported over 520,000 students, highlighting the crucial role these services play in the daily commute.

Moreover, the capital city is taking proactive measures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of student transportation services. These measures include regular maintenance checks on school buses and the integration of real-time tracking systems to boost safety and punctuality. By implementing these improvements, the city demonstrates its commitment to advancing public transportation infrastructure and supporting the educational needs of its community.

As part of an extensive modernization of the public transportation system, several key enhancements have been introduced. Passengers now have the flexibility to pay for their bus rides using not just designated bus cards, but also NFC-enabled cards and various standard bank cards, such as Trade and Development Bank, Golomt Bank and Khan Bank. This upgrade aims to simplify the payment process, making it more convenient for commuters and enhancing the overall user experience.
