The replacement of the heat supply pipeline along the Peace Avenue in Ulaanbaatar City, expanding it with a 1.6 km twin pipeline, is scheduled for completion on September 15. Subsequently, the Road Development Department of the capital city will construct a 1.6 km stretch of road at this location. In connection with this, Ts.Turkhuu, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar City, stated, “Six companies were selected for the tender for the pipeline expansion and renovation project, which commenced on July 16. As of today, five companies are continuing their work with 70-100 percent completion rates. However, due to the irresponsible actions of one company, progress has been delayed, making it impossible to carry out the final paving work.” 

He then continued, “We have coordinated with the representatives of the other companies to bring in additional resources, and we now plan to complete the pipeline upgrade and renovation by the contracted deadline of September 15.”

Ulaanbaatar has a total heat supply pipeline network extending over 390 kilometers, most of which are 30-60 years old. In particular, the main pipeline was commissioned in 1983. The authorities emphasized that for pipelines fully upgraded from start to finish, measures are being taken to ensure that they remain operational and uninterrupted during future repairs and upgrades.
