The Minister of Health recently met with Zafer Ates, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia, to discuss potential collaboration in the healthcare sector. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in Mongolian citizens traveling to Turkey for medical treatment due to illnesses and conditions that are not being diagnosed or treated domestically. To address this, the minister announced plans to establish a healthcare unit in Turkey to assist and protect the interests of Mongolian citizens.

In response, Ambassador Zafer Ates expressed readiness to collaborate and highlighted that cooperation between the two countries’ healthcare sectors has significantly expanded within the private sector. He noted that this initiative aligns with Turkey’s ongoing efforts to enhance international healthcare partnerships and facilitate better medical services for foreign nationals. Further discussions will be held to detail and implement the establishment of this healthcare unit. This move is expected to not only improve access to specialized medical care for Mongolian patients but also strengthen the broader bilateral relations between Mongolia and Turkey.
