State Service Center at Dragon Center opens

Ulaanbaatar’s third State Service Center (SSC) opened at Dragon Center, in Songinokhairkhan District’s 29th khoroo, on May 16. The Dragon Center SSC, opened under government and City Council decrees as part of the Smart Ulaanbaatar program, is a 1,558-square-meter facility capable of receiving 6,720 customers a day. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends. The center’s amenities include 350 outdoor parking spaces, a self-service hall, conference room, coffee shop, fast food restaurant, banks, monitoring room, waiting room, notary office, a customer requests station, as well as a fair trade center. Ulaanbaatar Mayor E.Bat-Uul said during the opening ceremony, “We’re putting state services on the shelf. We have transitioned to a new type of governance, where the public doesn’t have to appeal to authorities for service, but where the authorities serve the public.” The first SSC, which opened in January at Dunjingarav Shopping Center in Bayanzurkh District, offers over 380 services to 2,400 customers a day. The second SSC in Ulaanbaatar, which opened last Thursday, is located next to Misheel Expo in the 2nd khoroo of Khan-Uul District. The SSC at Misheel Expo is capable of receiving 4,800 customers a day, and it currently offers 287 services from 29 organizations. The third SSC will be the last to be built in Ulaanbaatar.
