Rental Apartment program participants receive keys to their new home

On Wednesday, a ceremony was held to present apartment keys to participants of the Rental Apartment program in Buyant Ukhaa-2. The program targeted young families, state servants, widowed women and men, disabled people, and senior citizens who don’t own a home and those who can’t afford an apartment. Currently, 829 households have met the requirements to move into a government rental apartment. The Rental Apartment program is a part of the government’s 2012 to 2016 action plan, which hopes to build apartments for 1,000 households from 2013 to 2016 for rental purposes. Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg noted that rental apartments for 16,000 households in the capital and for 4,000 households in provincial centers are expected to be built by 2021 through the project. “At this moment, 350 households who met all the requirements to rent an apartment through this program have gathered to receive keys to their apartment, which was ordered by the State Housing Corporation to be built in the 10th khoroo of Khan-Uul District,” he said, as he handed the keys. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Construction and Urban Planning Z.Bayanselenge, and Director of the State Housing Corporation A.Gantulga.
