F rom May 21 to 22, Altanbulag Expo 2016 was held at Selenge Province’s Altanbulag soum to improve crossborder transportation between Mongolia, Russia and China, develop infrastructure, advance investment cooperation between the neighboring countries, and intensify the activities of the free trade zone. MP and Minister of Industry D.Erdenebat and Speaker of the People’s Khural of Buryatia Tsyren Dorzhiev presented the opening remarks at the forum. Speaker Dorzhiev said, “Today let’s solve many vital issues and cooperate to develop the border region.” The forum attendees discussed issues concerning free trade zone trends, opportunities for developing transportation and logistics in the free trade zone, possibilities for exporting meat and meat products, and export and import customs taxes. The Ministry of Industry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mayor’s Office of Selenge Province, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Governor’s Office of Altanbulag Free Trade Zone, Altanbulag’s Free Trade Zone Investors Council, and Council in Charge of Cooperation with Russia organized the international forum and trade fair. Around 120 entities from Mongolia, Russia and China took part in the trade fair and promoted their products and services.
