Expo Mongolia 2016, an international mining, construction, energy, education, and industry sector trade fair and conference, is being held from May 23 to 25, at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace. Minister of Mongolia M.Enkhsaikhan presented opening remarks at the trade fair and underlined, “This expo becomes the basis for creating economic growth and expanding multilateral cooperation in Mongolia. The Mongolian government has been supporting the event. We need to collaborate to make the expo even more productive.” M.Enkhsaikhan noted that in countries with highly developed industries trade fairs are organized involving all economic sectors. He said that it’s been only few a years since Mongolia started organizing this international trade fair. Minister M.Enkhsaikhan emphasized that he is happy that Expo Mongolia, which introduces and promotes neo-industrial machines, mechanisms, and equipment, is being organized for the fourth time in Mongolia in accordance with European standards. Following the opening remarks, representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Green Development and Tourism and the Ministry of Energy presented speeches on environment and green development, construction and mining development, financing and investment, and multinational economic relations. During the trade fair, the Embassy of the Czech Republic presented multilateral and bilateral local projects and programs. Economic Advisor of the Embassy of the Czech Republic Ladyslav Horak said, “We are participating in the expo for the second time. We take part to find our new partners and make investments. Last year, six companies from the Czech Republic participated in the expo. They also took part in Mongolia Mining 2016 held last April.” The Czech Republic is implementing several projects in Mongolia, including a project on artificial insemination of livestock, establishing a well in Zavkhan Province, and eliminating ecological contamination in Dornogovi and Bulgan provinces and Ulaanbaatar's Nalaikh District. The Czech Republic is also expected to cooperate in automating the fuel transfer station of Thermal Power Plant III. The expo's organizers highlighted that Expo Mongolia has become a bridge between foreign and domestic investors, and provides opportunities for cooperation. The expo is being organized by JV Consult Mongolia LLC, Expo Mongolia 21 GmbH, and Planetfair Group, with support from the Mongolian Business Council, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, and Canada Mongolia Chamber of Commerce. On the third day of the expo, the Ministry of Environment, Green Development, and Tourism is expected to talk about green development policy, nature and environmental impact assessments, and water reserve assessment and utilization. In addition to participants from the U.S. and the Czech Republic, over ten companies from Germany are taking part in the expo, promoting their products and services.
