ASEM Press Center to launch on July 1

Shangri-La Mall formally handed over the area to be used by local and foreign journalists and delegates as a press center during the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting - Summit of Heads of State and Government (ASEM11) to the ASEM11 press group on June 15. The press group will change the interior design and start refurnishing and decorating the 2,400-square-meter area to establish the ASEM Press Center. Officials expect to finish this task by July 1. The Press Center will not only have an information department but also 49 audio-visual rooms and desks for a minimum of 450 journalists. The press group plans to operate the Press Center 24-hours a day, enabling over 600 journalists to simultaneously report, host live broadcasts, and connect with pressrooms all around the globe.
