Mongolia to develop human resources with assistance from Japan

Japanese Ambassador to Mongolia Takenori Shimizu and Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren signed exchange notes for the 9.9 billion JPY financing required for implementing the scholarship program to develop human resources in Mongolia on Tuesday. Under the program, students who are pursuing their master’s degree as state servants in universities of Japan are being granted financial assistances in the form of scholarships. Starting this year, Mongolia and Japan agreed to enroll doctoral students studying foreign relations, economics and education that will work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and Mongol Bank, into the program. The program has been implemented since 2001, and over 260 students were involved in the program to date. “They all become leaders in their sectors,” underlined Ambassador Shimizu during the exchange notes signing ceremony.
