Mongol Bank reported that the nation’s balance of payments saw a deficit of 11 million USD, which was a figure down by 212.3 million USD (95 percent) in comparison to the same period last year. Analysts believe that the decline was mainly influenced by a foreign trade account surplus of 169.2 million USD (31 percent), and a 78.6 million USD (20 percent) decrease in the foreign trade deficit. The capital and financial balance of Mongolia currently equals 226.2 million USD, which is a result down by 42 million USD (16 percent) compared to the same period last year. The report also underlined that foreign direct investment was up by eight times, reaching 455 million USD.
