The final results of 2016 city council (Capital City Citizen Representative’s Khural) elections, which ran simultaneously with the parliamentary elections, stated that 34 out of 45 seats in the city council have been won by the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP). The former ruling party Democratic Party won the remaining 11 seats.
