Azerbaijani news outlets have reported that Mongolia and Azerbaijan are holding discussions to launch direct flights between the two countries. The issue is under review as part of the Air Services Agreement signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Mongolia, and was discussed during a visit of the Azerbaijani State Civil Aviation Administration to Mongolia held from June 14 to 15. During the visit, civil aviation representatives from Azerbaijan and Mongolia discussed other issues concerning bilateral cooperation in air transportation and scheduled flights. The Azerbaijani delegates toured Chinggis Khaan International Airport and reviewed its procedures.
