Urgoo Cinema in Ulaanbaatar is about to open the IMAX Mongolia theater at Shangri-La Center on July 22. IMAX is a motion picture film format and a set of cinema projection standards created by Canada's IMAX Corporation. IMAX has the capacity to record and display images of far greater size and resolution than conventional film systems, and it is the most widely used system for special-venue film presentations. As of January 1, 2016, there were 1,061 IMAX theaters in 67 countries. IMAX Mongolia will have 309 standard and 78 VIP seats.
