The National Registration and Statistical Office (NRSO) of Mongolia reported that this year's potato and vegetable planting has increased throughout the country. Vegetables have been sown on 8,200 hectares, and potato on 14,400 hectares, which was a result up by 15 to 17 percent in comparison to the same period last year. This year, planting covered 378,100 hectares, which was a figure down by three percent compared to 2015. As of the first half of 2016, a total of 1.2 million livestock died due to harsh winter and spring conditions, according to the NRSO’s report.
