Mongolia and Singapore to implement 30-day visa waiver

Mongolia and Singapore have reached mutual negotiations to launch a reciprocal visa waiver for visits of up to 30 days. The negotiation was made during the official visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, who arrived in Mongolia to attend the ASEM Summit upon the invitation of newly appointed Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat. Singapore is working "very hard" with the Mongolian government to facilitate more convenient travel between the countries to encourage visits for tourism and business,  Singapore's non-resident Ambassador to Mongolia Yip Wei Kiat told  channelnewsasia.com on Wednesday. Speaking at a reception for the Singaporean community in Ulaanbaatar, Ambassador Yip said there has been a steady increase in interest by Singapore's companies to explore opportunities in Mongolia. There are about 20 Singaporeans registered as residing in Mongolia, working in sectors such as education and real estate. Singaporean authorities believe that Prime Minister Lee’s visit is expected to help raise Singapore’s profile in Mongolia, as well as awareness of the country among Singaporeans. During the visit, Lee and Prime Minister J.Erdenebat held official talks and signed several documents on collaboration.
