Deputy Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry Kh.Badamsuren visited Umnugovi’s Tsogttsetsii soum to become familiar with the activities of the Western and Eastern Tsankhi mines of Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi, and the Ukhaa Khudag mine of Energy Resources, and to discuss and exchange views on challenges being faced by the mines. The Deputy Minister also visited the Gashuun Sukhait border port to become acquainted with its coal transportation issues. Following his visit to Gashuun Sukhait, he attended a consultative meeting with authorities of Tsogtsetsii and Khanbogd soums to discuss improving coal exploration and export and developing mining infrastructure, and exchanged views on collaboration with local governing bodies. The Deputy Minister also visited Oyu Tolgoi and met with the company’s authorities. Kh.Badamsuren attended the opening ceremony of a 35 km road connecting Khanbogd to Oyu Tolgoi.
