History of the City and Migration project to educate younger generation

Arts Council of Mongolia and General Archive Authority are jointly implementing a project titled “History of the City and Migration” from April 24 from May 12 to introduce the history of Ulaanbaatar, social and cultural transformation and migration to the public and younger generation. Within the frames of the project, the Arts Council of Mongolia created an experimental and abstract video by using 16 mm and 35 mm films kept in the General Archive Authority. Guest teachers of the project Stefan Rusu, artist and curator of Moldova, and John Davis, American director, came to Mongolia to host a 14-day workshop on media art to 14 artists, including media artists, television directors, producers and workers of the General Archive Authority. During the workshop, the guest artists taught how to convert 16 mm and 35 mm films into digital and create experimental videos using an old video. Participants of the project made short films using archival films, which will be screened at iCinema in State Department Store on May 10 at 7:00 p.m.
