CIRCUS ARTIST WINS GRAND PRIX AT 13TH WORLD HORSEBACK ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIP

Acrobat and horse trainer E.Erdene won the Grand Prix prize at the 13th World Horseback Archery Championship, which was held in Sokcho, South Korea from October 19 to 23. More than 100 artists and athletes from 19 countries, including Mongolia, the USA, Canada, France, South Africa, Russia, Finland, Malaysia and Turkey, competed in six categories of the tournament. E.Erdene earned a silver medal in the single shot category of the 13th World Horseback Archery Championship, and Grand Prix through overall score. In the single shot event, a target is positioned between the starting line and finish line where each horseback archer shoots an arrow at the target and the horseback archer with the most points is declared the winner. In the team category, Mongolian archers O.Tumenbayar, P.Purev-Ochir, E.Erdene and N.Davaadorj brought home a silver medal. E.Erdene is a performer of Khan Mongol Horse Circus and he previously won a gold medal from the 12th World Horseback Archery Championship. Artists of Khan Mongol Horse Circus have previously won four medals from the 11th World Horseback Archery Championship. Khan Mongol Horse Circus has been performing in Jeju, South Korea since 1997 and competing in the World Horseback Archery Championship since 2005.
