On Wednesday, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture organized the Farmers National Consultation in Darkhan-Uul Province to discuss development of the nation’s agricultural sector and to promote advanced technology in agriculture. The consultative meeting started with the Spring Crops Technology trade fair to promote advanced technology being introduced to agricultural production. State Secretary of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture N.Ariunbold presented opening remarks at the Trade Fair saying, “Introducing advanced technology that suits the region’s soil, climate, and production potential is crucial in developing the nation’s farming sector.” He called on the consultation and trade fair attendees to become familiar with the technology that was being displayed and to take advantage of the offers provided by producers and suppliers. “I hope you will participate in today’s event by placing high priority on and signing new agreements and negotiations,” N.Ariunbold said. At the consultation, professional associations were joined by governmental and nongovernmental organizations to present the results of studies, and introduced varieties of crops for potential cultivation in the future. They also provided recommendations on correctly utilizing pesticides and herbicides. Over 20 entities engaged in the sales of agricultural equipment, seeds, fertilizers, and plant protection chemicals took part in the trade fair.
