The third Annual Model UNESCO Mongolia is encouraging dedicated and enthusiastic young people with outstanding leadership qualities to apply and participate in their conference. The delegate application is officially open and will close on November 4. The United Nations Youth Advisory Panel is organizing the annual Model UNESCO conference in partnership with Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO Beijing Office. Model UNESCO Mongolia (MUM) was first organized in 2015 by the UN Youth Advisory Panel in Mongolia (UNYAP) and UNESCO National Commission in partnership with the UNESCO Beijing Office in commemoration of UNESCO’s 70th Anniversary. MUM is a simulation of the UNESCO general conference in which young people are assigned to represent a country and play the role of Permanent Delegates from UNESCO Member States to debate current issues. The conference aims to promote the Sustainable Development Agenda and educate participants about current international events, diplomacy and the scope of UNESCO work. The conference has quickly become an annual event anticipated by many young people in Mongolia, evidenced by ever increasing application numbers and social media traction each year.
