As a result of the strong earthquake in Turkiye and Syria, many people lost their lives and a lot of damage was caused. In this regard, the administration of the capital city, the governors of nine districts, and local administrative organizations joined the campaign to help the people of Turkiye.

The capital city is donating 35 gers and 15 tents to help people affected by natural disasters. The first 10 complete gers were handed over to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Mongolia Zafer Ates. Ambassador Zafer Ates said, “Due to strong earthquakes in the eastern and southeastern regions of our country, many buildings collapsed in an area with about 13 million people, and more than 30,000 people lost their lives. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Mongolians for sharing our grief and suffering, expressing condolences, and supporting us during this difficult time. The assistance provided by the City Council, Governor’s Office of the Capital city, nine districts of the capital and local administrative organizations will be handed over to the people I will do everything possible to overcome the disaster in a short time.” Deputy Governor in charge of the social sector, green development, and air and environmental pollution Z.Tumurtumuu said, “The first round of gers and tents were handed over as an expression of the support of the capital’s residents. I believe that Mongolian people’s warm support and donations will reach and help those in need.

The capital city also issued the permission to receive the gers of the donation campaign to help the people of Turkiye at Sukhbaatar Square. Donations were accepted at the square until February 19.”
